ATTENTION!! Would you like to be proactive in what goes on in the Village of Mapleton? We currently have two trustee positions open and Mayor Bishop would love to talk to you. Please call him at 309-256-0739 if you are interested in being more involved in the daily operations of the village. There is a one year residency requirement in order to serve on the village board. These positions would be in effect until the next election.
___________________________________________ Butler Haynes Park We are so fortunate to have this beautiful park in our village. It is becoming apparent that many people are walking their dogs off-leash and not picking up after them. Please, carry bags with you and always pooper scoop after your pet. You wouldn't want your child or dog stepping in this, would you? ____________________________________________ ATTENTION: We are being notified by a number of residents both in the lower village and on the hill, of cats and dogs running loose and causing issues with pets. If you allow your pet to run loose, they will be trapped or picked up by Animal Control and there will be a charge to recover them. If you are having nuisance issues in your yard, please contact Peoria County Animal Welfare and they will come out and place live traps in your yards to capture the cats (and raccoons) that are causing problems and to pick up the dogs that are running loose. Please call: (309) 672-2440. The Village of Mapleton cannot place traps. This has to be done by the County. Thank you.
It has been decided that any animals belonging to residents of the Village of Mapleton picked up by Peoria County will be fined by the village if they were only charged a reclamation fee by the county, and were not fined. ______________________________________________________________ Meeting Schedule forMay 2018 to April 2019 6:30 pm at Village Hall: 2018 - May 9; June 13; July 11; August 8; September 12; October 10; November 14; December 12; 2019 - January 9; February 13; March 13; and April 10. ---------------------------------------------------- REMINDER: Water Bills are due on or before the 20th of each month.
